Thirteen actors have been nominated for Best Actor or Best Supporting Actor for portraying Roman Catholic priests or prelates. Three won Oscars: Spencer Tracy for ‘San Francisco’ (1936) and Bing Crosby and Barry Fitzgerald for ‘Going My Way’ (1944). The most recent nominee is Ralph Fiennes, nominated for ‘Conclave’ (2024).
